Who We Are
Our members comprise all Frederica Academy parents and guardians.
What We Do
The FA Parent Association partners with faculty and staff to enhance and enrich student life, by promoting a strong sense of community among our school families and encouraging a spirit of volunteerism among parents. To accomplish this mission, we work and raise funds to provide a variety of services and programs throughout the year.
How You Can Participate
Opportunities to engage in the school are abundant, even in 2020! We continuously seek parent volunteers willing to chair an event or activity, help out in the school where needed, serve as Grade Reps and/or backups in certain grades, or just provide day-to-day assistance on all things Parent Association!
To that end, we sponsor or help lead Ongoing Events and Activities, both directly and through our FA Parent Association Grade Rep Network. These include: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Luncheons; the annual FA Back-to-School BBQ (which, unfortunately, was canceled this year, due to COVID-19); ongoing Gently Used Uniform Sales; some New Family Welcome activities; Affinity Programs; our annual Holiday Poinsettia and Greenery Sale; Holiday Card Stuffing Party; assisting with flu vaccines and athlete physicals; and campus and event decorating, among others.
We host Monthly Meetings (either virtually or in person, with social distancing enforced) to:
- affirm our community and support the school;
- keep things running smoothly;
- provide opportunities to hear from a featured speaker(s);
- review and plan ongoing Parent Association events; and
- provide signup opportunities for specific volunteer assignments to those able to commit their time.
Parent Association also hosts Parent Get Togethers a few times each year -- usually at a local restaurant, so peer FAmilies can get to know each other more deeply.
We also strive to bring new and exciting Guest Speakers to address topics most relevant to our parent community.
Come to a meeting, call a member of our Board, or email us at email@example.com to get involved!
This is our largest and more involved fundraiser. Volunteers coordinate sales/orders; promote and communicate information to the school and surrounding community and businesses; receive and organize plants and greenery at the baseball field; and distribute them in late November or early December outside the Baseball Field (brrrrrr! -- hot chocolate fairies are always appreciated!)
As a service to our Lower and Upper School parents, we offer clean, gently used uniforms for a nominal charge (between $5 -$10). Donations of CLEAN, GENTLY USED (WITHOUT ANY STAINS OR TEARS) uniforms are accepted anytime.
Sales generally are held in August, September, December and January. If you miss the sales, and need to purchase used uniforms at other times, please contact Martha Eckert.
These programs benefit our school but don’t cost you a thing! Well…they don’t cost any more than you’re already spending. These monies are used by Parent Association to support various programs for our school.
- Harris Teeter: Frederica Academy earns cash by participating in Harris Teeter's Together in Education program. Please ask a cashier to link your VIC card to Frederica Academy. Cards must be “relinked” every August! Be sure to have friends & family link their cards, too!
- Publix: Please ask for a Publix Partners key card in Frederica's front office. Provide it when you checkout at Publix, and we receive credit resulting in cash for our school.
- Lands' End: As a member of the Lands' End Preferred School program, we earn a percentage of what parents spend on school uniform and dress code purchases each year. When you purchase your uniforms online (and anything else) please input Frederica's school code 900063579. It's that simple!
- AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support Frederica Academy every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to Frederica.
