Sports Hall of Fame Home
In commemoration of Frederica Academy’s 40th Anniversary, the school established a Sports Hall of Fame to honor individuals and teams that have made distinguished and lasting achievements and contributions to the Frederica Knights’ athletic program. The inaugural class was inducted into the Hall of Fame at a school-wide assembly on Friday, September 4, 2009.
To be eligible for nomination to the Frederica Academy Sports Hall of Fame, player candidates must be Frederica Academy graduates who have been out of school for more than five years. Additional requirements include having earned a letter in one or more sports for at least two years and, if applicable, having received All-Region or All-State Honors. Alternatively, a graduate who participated in varsity athletics while at Frederica and then competed in college athletics or attained a profession in athletics is also eligible for consideration.
Others eligible for nomination include past and present coaches; those who have given meritorious service to the athletic program; or a Frederica Academy athletic team that has attained record status or state recognition more than five years prior to the nominating period.
Frederica Academy Hall of Fame inductees are chosen by a nine-member selection committee. Names for nomination can be submitted to the committee at any time by anyone. To become a member of the Hall of Fame, eligible persons or teams must be: 1) nominated; 2) seconded by someone on the selection committee; and 3) be included on more than 75% of the ballots cast. No more than nine nominees, including teams, can be inducted into the Hall of Fame each year.
