| back | | Frederica’s Morgan Brian '11 Selected for National Team | | | .jpg) Morgan Brian ’11 has been named to the U.S. team that will compete in the 2012 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup, which begins Aug. 19 in Japan. Brian, a 2011 Frederica Academy graduate and a sophomore midfielder at the University of Virginia, is one of 21 players who will represent America at the event. The 2011 recipient of the Gatorade National High School Athlete of the Year award, Brian scored 11 goals and tallied eight assists in her first year at Virginia and helped the Cavaliers advance to the NCAA quarterfinals. She was named ACC Freshman of the Year, Soccer America Freshman of the Year and made both the all-ACC first team and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America first team. | | back | |
