Located on St. Simons Island, one of Georgia’s Golden Isles, Frederica Academy is an independent, coeducational, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, with an enrollment of approximately 400 students. The school was founded in 1969. Frederica operates a semester system with Upper School exams determining 25% of the average at the end of each semester. All graduates are expected to attend a 4-year college.

Course grades on the transcript will be unweighted; however the cumulative averages will be reported as weighted and unweighted. The unweighted average indicates the numerical average of all academic courses only (English, math, science, social science, foreign language) while the weighted average includes AP courses weighted 5 points and honors courses weighted 3 points. The weighted average is used to determine awards.
